Today we are in Rhodes, Greece. Ship docked at about 6:30 a.m. and all ashore
was 7:15 a.m. We decided we would make
it a lazy morning and meet in the atrium at 9 a.m. to get off the ship.
Headed into Mike’s Café and Snack Bar in the town square with
Michael, George and Kathy and had waffles for breakfast. Have been there three weeks in a row for
breakfast and lunch because it is the best.
We started walking through Old Town looking for crew members
because today our scavenger hunt assignment is to get pictures with crew
members for free bingo cards. Ran into
Andrea from Palo’s and some of the cruise staff team. So took advantage of the free Bingo cards
(not that they helped us later that night)
After breakfast we were meeting at the clock tower at 11
a.m. to climb the tower. Michael and I
were late, but we met up with Scott and Lynn there and enjoyed some time at the
bar for a free drink. (When you pay $5
to climb the clock tower you get a free drink from the bar). I had the lemonade. It is real good. The views from the tower are very
picturesque.
After that we went shopping through Old Town and came across
the fish pedicures. So Scott, Lynn,
Michael and I got fish pedicures. 20
minutes for 6 euros. We all enjoyed it
and our feet are soft and the circulation in our feet is better. These fish were imported from Israel
We then met back at Mike’s Café and Snack Bar for lunch. We had a variety of foods on the table, but
everyone agreed, the gyros were wonderful.
We were there for at least an hour visiting and laughing.
Went next door and bought some more jewelry from my favorite
jewelry lady. Last time I will visit
with her this year. She gave me great
deals and gave me hugs and kisses goodbye.
Then we traveled down the road for gelato. I had lemon/lime gelato and
vanilla/chocolate/caramel/peanut butter gelato in a cone. Excellent.
We decided to wander our way back to the ship but stop and
put our feet in the Aegean Sea.
Went and saw Villian's Tonight in the Walt Disney
Theater. It was excellent.
Bingo was next. Kathy
won a game of Bingo!
Then off to dinner in Lumiere’s. Tonight was the Greek Menu and the crew did a
“Celebration of Greece”. Mehmet started
the Greek celebration by dancing from his home country, then everyone else
joined in as well kept yelling “Opa”. No
dishes were broke on the ground though.
Tomorrow the Disney Magic will make its' inaugural visit to Herkalon, Greece (Crete), we are getting an early start to try and
beat the Disney Cruise Line buses to the ruins, so we are meeting at 7:30 a.m.
in the atrium. So I am going to
bed. I feel like I have a cold coming
on. I hope not. I have been sanitizing my hands as much as possible
to avoid a cold.
A great day in Rhodes!
Goodnight from the Disney Magic!
Ah, another place you will miss after having become a regular in Rhodes this summer. The pictures are beautiful and it sounds like a lovely relaxing day. Hope you didn't end up with a cold and are feeling better.
