July 16 2014 Sea Day

July 16 2014

It’s another sea day and what a beautiful day it is!  Went by a lot of Greek Islands this morning.

Got up this morning and had a morning walk on deck 4 and then played Bingo for the morning session.  No win this morning….

Decided to go up to the pool for the afternoon and hang out in the shade and finish reading one of the books I had started on the last cruise.  I checked out the book from The Cove in the adult area (you can check out books for free there, and just need to return them when you are done).  Had lunch out on deck and then Michael, his parents and me played cards for most of the afternoon at the adult pool.  Had lots of fun.  Their family is competitive (just like mine) when it comes to playing games!  We didn’t finish, so will have to fit it in somewhere later in the cruise.

We went to Bingo at 4:30 p.m., none of us won a game of Bingo, but I did win a Disney Cruise Line Raffle Bag.  So I am now the proud owner of a couple of DCL Luggage Tags, a DCL hat, a DCL insulated lunch bag, and a DCL Bingo Lip Balm.  Tomorrow is Athens, so there is no Bingo tomorrow.  We have to go on a scavenger hunt and if we bring back a picture of the Temple of Zeus taken from the Acropolis, we get free Bingo cards!

After Bingo, we wandered around the ship and then at 6:30 met in the Walt Disney Theater for The Beatle Maniacs.  I have to say, it was the most fun I have had at a variety show in a long time.  It was so fun singing along to The Beatles hit songs.  They played a lot of videos on the screen from the Ed Sullivan Show and the height of their popularity.  It is amazing how to this day, people of all ages can sing along to their songs.  They had the audience up and dancing and singing.  It was a blast.  Would love for DCL to do more shows like this to mix it up a little bit!  Michael told his mom that he was sure she was one of the screaming girls in the videos!  LOL.  This show was a refreshing change from magicians, ventriloquists and other acts…..

Had dinner in Lumiere’s and it was the Prince and Princess menu.  When it was time for dinner the music from Beauty and the Beast started playing “Be Our Guest” and Belle and the Beast and dancers from the Walt Disney Theater came to dance for us.  Emma is in the first picture and then waving to me in the last picture.

The dining team brought my dessert from Palo that we didn’t eat the night before and they sang “Happy Golden Cruise” to me and then served the cake.  It was delicious.  Fern and Chet along with Jason and Noel came in for dessert to share in the celebration.  A great end to the day.

Tomorrow we have a long day in Athens touring, so am headed to bed!
